MPG’s Brief was to transform and pivot the British Franchise Association’s annual flagship 2020 conference and awards ceremony into a virtual TV style format that would engage and excite the audience, presenters and award winners. And to recreate the live event buzz at home. MPG worked alongside BFA to create high quality live and pre-recorded program. As the clapper board came down, The British Franchise Association Conference went virtual to over 1,000 delegates, broadcasting live from the MPG Studio in Central London.
The evening awards ceremony allowed everybody to relax and enjoy a Hollywood style event with BFA CEO Pip Wilkins and the main Sponsor HSBC taking to the stage. Both Franchisees and Franchisors were recognised throughout the evening with sponsor and nominees’ videos being shown in advance of the awards being announced. Viewers’ feedback was captured through the online message wall to ensure interactivity amongst the attendees.
An LED Wall provided the backdrop for both the conference and awards ceremony. This allowed for remote presenters, pre-recorded vox pops and animated content to be shown throughout the day.
The remote presenters were bought into a virtual green room via VMIX - this allowed for the presenters to talk to both fellow presenters and the show producer before they went live on screen.
A variety of camera positions alongside autocue provided wide and close up shots with a rich variety of footage intermixed to offer a TV program approach, broadcasting a more visually and exciting program to the viewers.
Lighting was key for both the conference and awards ceremony, with moving lights and LED technology creating an atmosphere that mirrored previous years.
