CHALLENGE
AI is everywhere these days, isn’t it? It’s the buzzword on everyone’s lips, especially in high-powered boardrooms. Our client—an influential accounting firm rubbing shoulders with the world’s best—wanted to shake things up a bit. They were looking for an event that would do more than just talk about AI; they wanted something that would really resonate with top executives.
Here’s where we stepped in. We needed to create an experience that was anything but ordinary. Our challenge was to keep these seasoned professionals engaged and excited about a topic they discuss daily. But we didn’t stop there. We aimed to change the conversation entirely, to open minds and spark new ideas about how AI can be trusted and transformative.
Enter “Trust in Tech”—a theme designed to explore, through a variety of engaging and innovative mediums, the many ways AI can be beneficial. Our goal was to demonstrate how our client’s offerings could help build trust and seamlessly integrate AI into existing processes, reshaping perceptions and sparking dialogue.
DESIGN SOLUTION
The Design Museum provided a fitting backdrop for our event, inspiring us to infuse creativity and innovation into every aspect of the planning. We crafted a stand-alone structure with four distinct hubs, each designed to immerse attendees in key aspects of our client’s AI offerings.
Given the high-profile nature of our client, attention to detail was crucial. Achieving the perfect brand colour match became a mission in itself. Our dedicated warehouse team meticulously tested multiple shades until they discovered the hue that captured the client’s vision. This commitment extended to every facet of the event—from building and painting to setup and installation—all executed within the precise parameters set by the Design Museum’s Huth Gallery.
Sustainability was at the heart of our design approach. We utilised eco-friendly materials for both the structure and branding elements, ensuring that our environmental footprint was minimal. The standalone graphic elements were thoughtfully designed to be repurposed, allowing the client to continue the conversation within their offices long after the event concluded.
In addition to the bespoke expo-style stand, we integrated dynamic branding, strategic lighting fixtures, and LED screens to showcase relevant content, creating an engaging and visually cohesive experience. Our logistical expertise ensured smooth delivery and de-rigging.
THE EXPERIENCE
Our event was designed to engage attendees at various levels, recognising that some prefer active participation while others enjoy a more observational approach. Each hub offered a distinct experience, tailored to explore our core themes in creative ways.
Hub 1: Trust in Robotics For the adventurous, we introduced an interactive robot arm that illustrated the concept of “trust in robotics.” Attendees could control the arm with a headset, experiencing firsthand the synergy of human-robot interaction. This engaging activity drew participants in, nurturing confidence in working alongside technology.
Hub 2: Trust in Policy To add a human touch, an actor engaged with attendees amidst piles of documents, highlighting the tedious nature of manual processes. Pre-recorded videos depicted numerous individuals involved in similar tasks. In contrast, an adjacent display showcased AI-driven optimisations, underscoring the potential time savings. This setup brought the “trust in policy” message to life, bridging the gap between technology and humanity.
Hub 3: Trust in Ethical AI In this hub, delegates interacted with an engaging display of the client’s values on touch iPads. A wheel of fortune added a playful twist, making the exploration of ethics both informative and entertaining. This dynamic environment encouraged thoughtful reflection on ethical considerations in AI.
Hub 4: Trust in Generative AI Captivating audiences with AI-generated imagery, this hub challenged delegates to discern whether content was AI-made or real. The reveal provided insights into identifying AI characteristics, sparking curiosity and discussion about the future of generative technologies.
Each hub featured case studies seamlessly tied back to the client’s solutions, answering the pivotal question, “How is this relevant to me?” Hub helpers facilitated one-on-one discussions, deepening connections and reinforcing the event’s key messages.
FEEDBACK
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to you all and the whole MPG team for your fantastic support at our Trust in Tech event last night.
I was really pleased with the final execution of the Huth Gallery and it provided a great setting for our guests to interact and engage with during our networking drinks reception.
We’ve had some really nice feedback already. It would be great to hear how things went your side and about the engagement in the hubs from our guests”
